My Epic 5-Day Jeju Island Adventure: Sunrises, Snoopy, and Seriously Delicious Pork!
文章目錄

Hey everyone, Mark here! I'm back with another travel story, this time from the stunning island of Jeju, South Korea. As a seasoned traveler with a penchant for Asian adventures, I knew Jeju would be a treat, and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations! This wasn't just a trip; it was an experience. I'm going to share all the details so you can plan your own incredible Jeju journey. Get ready to explore with me!

Getting There and Getting Around

My adventure began at Gimpo Airport's domestic terminal. I hopped on a Jeju Air flight (and yes, I did browse their shopping magazine!). Upon arrival at Jeju International Airport, grabbing a rental car was a breeze. Just follow the signs: exit the airport, turn right, and catch the shuttle bus to the SK Rent-a-Car counter. I had my wheels in no time, and my 5-day, clockwise island exploration commenced!

Jeju's Culinary Delights: From Pork to Bagels

My Jeju culinary journey started with a hearty bowl of doegok-guk (pork soup noodle) – a must-try! I grabbed it from a popular spot that, I'd advise, you book in advance via app. The added seaweed was a delightful touch. Then, a little further down the road, there was London Bagel Museum! A must-try if you’re a bagel lover!

Later, I indulged in Jeju's famed black pork. The grilling is done by professionals at most restaurants – a truly luxurious experience. They even gave me some tips for optimal enjoyment. I ate by the sea and it was amazing. Along the coast, I tried grilled abalone – it was an unforgettable meal! I even found time to savor some hallabong (Jeju mandarin orange) pastries and coffee with incredible ocean views. And don't forget the incredible potato pork ribs – absolutely divine!

Here's a quick summary of my food highlights:

Day 1-2: Beaches, Snoopy, and Sunsets at Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak

My first stop was Infinity Resort near Hamdeok Beach. The ocean view from my two-bedroom suite was breathtaking. After checking in, I strolled along the beach and later enjoyed black pork BBQ dinner. Day two began with a bagel feast at the London Bagel Museum. This was a perfect start to my trip.

Next up was the Snoopy Garden – a charming place. It took about 3-4 hours to fully explore the area and take pictures. The outdoor exhibits are absolutely adorable. In the afternoon I checked into my accommodation near Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak (Sunrise Peak). The views from my room's terrace were incredible! I climbed the peak the next day. The hike up was a great workout but completely worth it for the panoramic views. I finished my second day with a seaside dinner of abalone and enjoyed a stunning sunset. The next morning I woke up at 5 am to witness an absolutely breathtaking sunrise.

Day 3: Waterfalls, Resorts, and Coastal Cafes

Day three took me to Jeju Aquarium, where I saw impressive marine life exhibits and a traditional Jeju Haenyeo (female diver) performance. A quick 5-minute drive brought me to Seopjikoji, where I rested at a seaside café, indulging in hallabong scones and latte. The views were stunning! I then checked into Velum Resort in Seogwipo—a luxurious stay with spacious villas and amazing views. In the afternoon, I visited Jeongbang Waterfall, the only coastal waterfall in Asia that flows directly into the sea. It was incredibly scenic! I finished the day with a delicious dinner of crispy pork cutlets.

Day 4: Thrills, Art, and Windmills

Day four was all about adrenaline. I spent the morning at 9.81 Park, racing around the track. The automatic return was a fun feature! Afterwards, I enjoyed the calmer ambiance of the Arte Museum. The evening brought a delicious meal of potato pork rib soup and a stunning sunset at the Sinchang Windmill Coast. The scene was perfect for a relaxing evening stroll.

Day 5: Hydrangeas, Tea Plantations, and Farewell

My last day began with a visit to the Camellia Hill, perfect for enjoying the hydrangea season. Afterwards, I explored a tea plantation, bought some souvenirs, and enjoyed a final sweet treat. My last stop was the Rainbow Coast Walking Trail before returning my rental car and heading to the airport. I even caught one last glimpse of a sunset over Jeju before my flight home.

Final Thoughts

Jeju Island is a must-visit destination. The balance of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and delicious food made it one of my most memorable trips. From stunning sunrises to adorable Snoopy statues, the island had something to offer every traveler. I recommend a minimum of 5 days to explore all Jeju has to offer. So pack your bags, and get ready for your own unforgettable Jeju adventure!
